“Ah! Crudele…”
Like today, most of the songs written in the baroque were about love. This dramatic, passionate program explores the timeless subject of romance. Cantatas by Handel, Rossi and Scarlatti are complemented by Tartini’s impetuous violin sonata, “Didone Abbandonata,” plus fabulous works for two violins, cello and harpsichord.

The Apotheosis of Corelli
Musical Tributes to a Great Master
Arcangelo Corelli's fame went well beyond his violin playing: his trio and violin sonatas influenced successive generations of composers across Europe. Today’s Repast concert brings together music by Corelli and a sampling of the works he inspired. The program concludes with Couperin's monumental trio sonata, “The Apotheosis of Corelli.”

An Evening in the Gardens of Versailles
From the theatrical grandeur of Lully to the subtle intimacy of François Couperin, Repast presents French baroque music from Paris and the court of Versailles. This program includes a chamber version of the opera “Armide,” complete with devilish spell-casting, perilous boyfriend-chasing, and burning castles.
