Goldberg Variations Project

We are very excited about our newest recording project: our own arrangement of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Originally for solo harpsichord, we were inspired by hearing the more lyrical canons in this piece as suitable for different timbered instruments. We left the Aria and 9 of the variations in their original form for solo harpsichord and arranged the other movements for different combinations of flute, violin, bassoon, cello, and harpsichord, including some with piccolo cello and one on viola. We performed the work in May, 2016, and we recorded it at the recital hall of the Staller Center for the Performing Arts in Stony Brook, NY on Sept 5, 6, 7, 2017.
We had a wonderful time working with Geoffrey Burgess, producer, and
Rob Anderson, engineer, who also took these photos.
We will be very excited to share the finished CD with you! Please keep an eye on this page for updates on the production process.
