This multimedia program features French silent films from the early twentieth century paired with music from the French Baroque. The image-rich and programmatic music of Rameau, Marais, Forqueray, and Francois Couperin is juxtaposed with the whimsical, inventive, and sometimes comical early French films, including Georges Méliès’s Journey to the Moon.
