This thrilling program includes famous “Labyrinth” works by Locatelli (for violin) and Marais (for viola da gamba), as well as Couperin’s portrayal of Corelli’s journey to Parnassus, Corrette’s meditation on solitude for bassoon, and a virtuosic programmatic keyboard solo by Forqueray.

Dutch Masters: Painting and Music in the Early Baroque

Repast adds recorder, theorbo, and an additional viola da gamba to this program focused on Holland’s Golden Age. Featuring the female composer Leonora Duarte, as well as Flemish and Dutch composers including Hacquart and Schop, this program portrays the exquisite intimacy of this genre, with projected images of paintings by Vermeer, Rubens, Frans Hals, and others as a backdrop to the music.

From the idea of Empfindsamkeit, or heightened sensitivity, to the sudden mood swings of passionate youth, this program features daring and intimate works by Schaffrath, Platti, Benda, and C.P.E. Bach.
